Shopping in Rhode Island
The shopping experience in Rhode Island is similar to the experience you would expect in any of the areas in the northeast states. Shopping in the Northeast is different than the shopping anywhere else in America because of the difference in the New England Culture. Providence Place is the favorite location of most residents and visitors to Rhode Island. This is the largest shopping mall anywhere in the area. It has over 170 of the top chain stores in the U.S. as well as 12 of the most delicious eating establishments in the state. This shopping, dining and entertainment destination is the highlight of any shopping excursion you wish to go on while visiting Rhode Island.
Most of the top high-end stores located in New York can be found right here. A few of the more popular stores are Nordstrom, Tiffany & Co., Coach, The Apple Store, The Cheesecake Factory, Sephora, J. Jill, Sony Style, Ross-Simons, Build-A-Bear Workshop, and Dave & Buster’s. No mall would be complete without a movie theater, this allows for an entertaining break during your shopping extravaganza. The Feinstein IMAX Theatre, which is located inside of Providence Place, has 11 screens for your viewing pleasure. Check local listings while you are there so you can plan your shopping trip to coincide with your movie times. The stunning architecture of this mall will keep you coming back for more as you spend your day enjoying shopping and entertainment in this quaint little area of Rhode Island.
Warwick Mall is the other notable shopping area in Rhode Island. There are around 100 different stores inside of the mall including eating establishments. This is more of the kind of mall you would expect to see in this laid back New England state. Most of your typical mall stores can be found here, like Gap, Abercrombie, and Fitch, Foot Locker, Victoria’s Secret, etc, etc. Warwick Mall is your typical down-home mall experience without all the extra fluff of some of the big city malls. Most of the restaurants you will find here are just going to be fast-food chains with the normal burger and fries menu. So if you’re looking for somewhere elegant to dine with the family, its better you look around the surrounding areas because you’re not going to find it here.
There are a million different small shops located around the state, so try not to limit yourself to just the big malls. The malls are going to contain the same things that you can buy at your own hometown mall. What really sets the Rhode Island shopping experience apart from the rest is the small shops located down around the waterfront. Here you will find some of the most unique things that you ever thought existed. A nice little souvenir to bring back from the Ocean State can definitely be found here.
